Calgary Wedding Photographer: Winter Wedding at Rouge Restaurant - Charlotte & Leigh

Yesterday I shot Charlotte and Leight's intimate wedding on New Year's eve. The getting ready was at Fairmont Palliser's beautiful adjoining rooms (looked like a big 2-bedroom apartment, with its own kitchen and en-suite bedrooms). The ceremony and reception took place at Rouge Restaurant, a fine dining restaurant in Calgary that is also the Province of Alberta's heritage site, built in 1891.

Charlotte and Leigh, thank you again for trusting me to document your big day (and for sharing it with me!). I sincerely wish both of you all the best for your new life together.

Huge thanks as well to the team at Rouge restaurant who not only was superbly accommodating and helpful during the wedding to me (absolutely one of the best I've worked with!), but also who graciously allowed me to use their garden at night for few evenings prior to the wedding, to test and practice the night photos with the flash. I had been worried that the garden would be too dark this time of the year (the photos were taken past 6 pm on one of the longest winter nights). I could not be happier that the efforts paid off; the photos turned out just as I wanted and the falling snow added a touch of magic to the photos!
